Making sure that apps remain open and compatible with other init systems, so that if systemd turns evil there is a easy way to escape.
Since systemD is open source, even if they do turn evil it could be forked from the last non-evil version, or another implementation could be made. I do agree with the other two points though.

It’s not clear but it seems like the service is restricted to the same age ranges it asks anyone, so it couldn’t do that as effectively. Although it could just use when the user passes from one category from another to get their age, at least if the account was created when the user was >18, but that seems unavoidable.

The way it’s imposed on the fediverse is bad, but I like this part:
The Blueprint is open source and uses zero-knowledge proofs: cryptographic methods that prove a statement like “over 15” without revealing the underlying data. Each member state must provide at least one such solution free of charge to its citizens.

Just a heads up, the text formatting on the add-ons page is messed up.

Don’t throw stones from glass houses
I’ve played the early access a bit, it’s better but if you’re not super interested I’d wait a bit longer before hopping back in, just that way the difference is bigger.

I mean yeah, obviously?
Like even disregarding the fact that facebook already does that, any AI marketed as an AI agent that will do things on your behalf, including helping you with your relationships will do that. Stuff like “remember to buy a gift for X” would obviously require a profile on that person.

The issue is that they’re also doing tons of secret hidden debt that doesn’t show up on their reports, sounds goofy but it is true.
Also google is probably in the best financial situation out of any of those companies.

The problem is that those “signs” don’t really point to it?
Like, new technology with bunch of hype appears, demand goes up, the hardware industry raises prices, prices probably won’t go down to how they were before because the industry is pretty cartel-like.
That happens is every poorly-regulated market.
You don’t need a secret cabal of people making computer parts expensive on purpose to make people dumb to have that make sense, and requires extra justification.

You know those news articles about how like a third of adults are functionally illiterate?
I feel like I’ve been seeing more people replying to the shape of a comment, rather than what’s actually being said, like right now.
This is one of my favorites, it always elicits a specific feeling.
That’s a false equivalence and you know it
