This Green Oceans “grass roots” group that filed the objection… they very much appear to be a smokescreen group for oil and gas interests. Certainly, they spend a lot of time echoing those interests’ talking points. They definitely don’t have a lot of friends in the environmental protection movement, yet they have very deep pockets.

An advisory body is not given carte blanche authority to fire government employees and cut federal spending on congressionally approved programs. If all they were doing was “advising”, then turn over the records for whoever was making the decision to follow their advice.

What’s ridiculous about it is, if any of the people who were offended actually sat down and analyzed the wording, the only thing they could reasonably object to is the “Hail Satan” at the end. Which illustrates the entire problem with Christian Nationalism. They don’t care about the content, only the branding.

Not all cats take to the leash. I got a harness for Ozzy when he was about 9 months old because he was always trying to sneak out the back door when we would open it to go outside. But the second I put the harness on him, he would always go into “freeze” mode and lay on his belly, despite many attempts at training. So instead, I built him a catio accessible via a pet door. He spends a lot of time out there watching the birds and squirrels and sniffing the air. He still tries to sneak out the door, but I feel less bad about not letting him out.
