pay off all my other debt instantly, use a couple k to replace broken things i put up with, make a 6 months’ expenses emergency savings account, and invest the remainder in something relatively low risk that hopefully gives dividends equal to or greater than the monthly payment amount for this loan
my life would be relatively unchanged unless that investment dividend was crazy

aren’t music records an analog signal?
i love shitposts that are way more well-written than they have any business being haha

yeah, basically the only way to vote informed is to spend several hours researching the candidates and their values, ballot measures’ implications, etc.
before the internet that shit must have been goddamn near impossible.
it’s a lot to ask of a population who is largely overworked, underpaid, and alienated from their communities to the point where having a few uninterrupted hours is a fucking luxury few of us have even occasionally. and usually we want to spend those hours with friends and family… so doing something boring like voter research is a hard sell
ironically, informed voting is one of the ways we could start to chip away at free time scarcity

I would recommend setting it to something like 6–8 minutes instead so that if something prevents you from being there to take it out when done (bathroom emergency, etc.) you don’t potentially burn your home down

hell yeah

In the US, a vast majority of people vote by party. They may not even know the candidates by name, and simply vote “straight ticket.”
But I was in line to vote a few years ago and overheard someone say something like “yeah I saw more signs for This Guy than for That Guy, so I guess I’ll vote This Guy.”
I have also heard it’s not uncommon for Americans to vote for candidates they think are more attractive, or have a name they like more.
Basically, we’re pathologically stupid

also the reverse

what i currently do now? continuously lower my expectations and try to be grateful for what i have
it sounds bitter lol but honestly it’s made me a more content, less materialistic person

meditation and early hypnangogic sleep stages, just watching my brain do weird brain shit. sometimes I get this insane, intense sensation of being/observing something formless and simultaneously infinitely large and infinitely small. like my location/place neurons doing some kind of existentially overwhelming hardware stress test lol

in my experience as a vagina haver, jilling off before work does in fact help keep you from getting distracted by the horny (though if it’s particularly bad it won’t completely eliminate the thoughts)

i would like to know how the fuck some of them fridges got to be 50 °C. are they run on heat pumps and you can just crank them to whatever temperature with the software!? are they general purpose laboratory incubators!??!

that’s good to know, but the reason i wear as little fragrance as possible is that smells (good or bad) distract me severely 🫠

me too and I’m scared it’s allergies :(

I have one, they’re super great astringents for stopping bleeding of small cuts :D sadly they’re not very effective on my level of sweat/stink 😭 though they are better than nothing so I use mine as a backup when I’ve run out of aluminum chlorohydrate antiperspirant. They are indeed cheap if you know where to look, and I’ve never had one run out (I just drop them and they break 😂)
of note, potassium alum / any alum mineral does actually contain aluminum ions by definition. they are known to be non-irritating to some people who have a reaction to more mainstream antiperspirant ingredients (e.g. aluminum chlorohydrate, aluminum chloride) hence their popularity as an alternative

sadly i am a stinky/sweaty lady and require antiperspirant, not just deodorant. which I did actually attempt to make myself once. i bought aluminum chlorohydrate powder and then proceeded to not make the time/effort to make an antiperspirant gel/spray out of it for about 5 years before giving up, admitting to myself it was an abandoned project, and tossing it along with components for several other abandoned projects in a pre-move cleanup 😑
fortunately I’m actually good on soap for now between Kirk’s Coco Castille unscented and my hipster friend’s homemade unscented olive oil soap :]
shampoo and conditioner have been difficult. I like the CeraVe ones I currently use but have to decide if I’m satisfied with their performance enough to justify the price. 😬 though if I do decide that I’ll likely get them online for cheaper next time I run out
it is a big dumb scam that unscented things usually cost way more than scented.
Boston Dynamics got started making weird leggy robots specifically for terrain that’s too rough for wheels and tank tracks, so if there was somehow a need for a bipedal robot it might end up looking somewhat like a mech.
My guess is that legged ground based war machines are usually going to have 4+ legs for stability, though. Airborne drones are probably going to be way more common.
Personally, I hope we achieve a utopian future where war is obsolete, scarcity is history, and we build giant mecha robots and battle with them as a power sport
