I was originally going to ask how many legal genders there should be, but I fail to see a compelling argument against 0.

White, African American, Latino, Asian, Native American, etc. All of them. I don’t think any legal identity separates gender from sex, either, so it might as well already be 0.

Race is a protected class. So, white cis male are a protected class. White, African American, Latino, Asian, Native American, etc. All of them.
