It’s no surprise. Trump has this weird connection to Putin, and sees Ukraine as Europe’s problem. And in the end, US American voters are primarily interested in money; elections are won or lost if they feel they are losing money: Bill Clinton’s “it’s the economy, stupid.”
No, this is not a popular move in the US.
