This record is for the heaviest pumpkin (Cucurbita pepo). This record may be attempted by an individual. This record is measured in kilograms (kg) (to the nearest 0.001 kg), with the equivalent imperial measurements also given in pounds (lb) and ounces (oz). For the purpose of this record, a pumpkin is a cultivar of winter squash that is round with smooth, slightly ribbed skin, and most often deep yellow to orange in coloration. The name is most commonly used for cultivars of Cucurbita pepo , but some cultivars of Cucurbita maxima , C. argyrosperma , and C. moschata with similar appearance are also sometimes called "pumpkin". For the purpose of this record, a pumpkin will not include any squash classified as 100% of the following colours or colour combinations: green, blue, and grey.

      Yeah I mean really design a mechanism specifically for this. Like slowly lower it as it grows, so that it supports it own weight but without deforming. Maybe lowered into some crater-like hole dug into the ground.

        Designing a harness is not that hard but it simply cannot sustain its own weight while forming a perfect shape. Thats like trying to make a water balloon retain a perfect shape. If it was possible, someone would have already done it, trust me.

        It would be near impossible to prevent cheating when anything other than the pumpkin is involved. Thats what I meant by you cant weigh it.
