This isn’t even limited to furry art, but regardless of the subject matter, I will never understand the appeal. Not knocking anyone who is into it, obviously (and clearly that’s a lot of people, with how often it’s done), but I don’t see it.

Yeah … when I’m into one of these characters, I want to see her depicted as at least close to the body type she had in the original media.

But, nah. Seems like 2/3 of the furry artists out there insist on giving them gigantic breasts, fat bodies, and hips the size of a cement mixer.

If you want to draw OCs like that, I got no problem with it. Not my favorite, but whatever, feel free to do what you like. But when they do it to beloved existing characters, I do get annoyed. I know what she’s supposed to look like, and she doesn’t look anything like that. You’re drawing her because she’s popular, and she’s popular because she’s already attractive. You don’t need to add 150lbs of blubber to make her attractive.

I agree with the point about changing the character. Changing someone’s physical appearance definitely changes how they feel and how people perceive them. You’re functionally changing the character (for better or worse)

Totally. Im not a fan of too big, or distracting. It’s like when you put food on a plate. Might have a steak and a few potatoes, but you don’t fill it with 1kg of peas on top of it xD kinda distracting or overwhelming.
