Good to know Russian authorities treat this seriously and are cooperative. Remember Covid-19 and how information was very fuzzy for weeks when in broke out in late 2019? Probably not because it wasn’t really reported on. Remember how China denies it came from the Wuhan lab and often even the city or China at all? Remember how that got completely out of control before it even left the country because authorities simply denied anything was going on?
I’m sort of relieved to hear about this incident and how it’s being handled so far. They already tested people in the victim’s close proximity and are monitoring them closely but all they found so far were minor cases of guess what? Covid-19! Also kudos for researching that shit in Siberia instead of a major global port city like Wuhan.

I like Proton as far as a premium product is likable. But Google already taught me that putting all my eggs in one basket is a bad idea. Ecosystems trap you and make it a hassle to switch. Same goes for Proton because eventually it will enshittify or be enshittified by regulators and you will wish not having done everything with Proton.
And the bigger the ecosystem grows, the higher the cost and will it really be worth to pay ever increasing subscription fees for a service when you only use 20% of the features? Because I think that‘s where we are already headed.
