Not everything is included by default, otherwise kernel gets larger for no reason as do possible CVE issues. Its good practise to only include what is needed.
I had to add CDROM drivers on my Linux machine when I added an external CD after install.
Ah. I wouldn’t buy soundcore if all you wanted was playback with no features.
So you lose functionality without an app.
The soundcore open source app allows you to pre-pair a bunch of devices, they then show as a list and you can pick two with the toggles to swap your earbuds to different decives on the fly. It skips the repairing steps. I.e. I have multiple computers at home (work system and home system), and a work phone and home phone. It is handy to swap from meeting, music, or phone calls
How do you set the noise cancelling adjustments without the app, or how do you set the equalizer options, or how do you alter the button options, or how do you toggle which devices to connect to from your dual connect list…if you have no app?

Install HaikuOS and watch them struggle to search it 🙂
Yep, I think that’s the one I downloaded. You can block network access in permissions, and just leave nearby devices on. And everything works. Even managing dual connections with toggles so you can have several pairing and decide which two to connect with.
Someone gave me some Anker Soundcore, then Tue changed the app to require network access to use the features and a cloud sign in, plus AI garbage to record voice. Thankfully there is an OpenSource app for it that works without network
What’s not in Canada? I’m not following what you mean?
Person1: I built a script in Java.
Person2: So Javascript?
Person 1: NO!

Those craft apps are still getting daily updates, so assuming that continues they will reach the 99% featured parity… They are at 40%-60% so far, depending on the app.

Sounds like Rogers is asking me to change to another provider

Yeah, I went to Uni/College, and my wife says I’m the smartest person she knows (she must not know a lot of people). Her own personal motto is “Im cute not smart” But if its Tetris or Scrabble she is going to win every single time, and by a lot. She played Tetris every single day as a kid, and has an amazing Scrabble skill.

Those are artificial rules and boundaries in a game Life and work often follows no rule or boundary, and you have to adapt to new information.

The trouble is you can have a kid who’s parents taught them chess and all they focused on was the proper moves by rote. And that kid can be shit at everything else in life.
Graduating college is less about finding the right answer, but knowing how to get to that answer and why you pick a certain method over other things. Its why the profs hound people to show their work in a problem.
I had a programmer dude working for us, he would achieve results but he (and we) never quite knew if they were valid because he had a hard time explaining how he got to certain assumptions. He had no formal college training, he just picked up stuff quickly by trial and error. It was suggested to him he go back and take a programming basics course to get the fundamentals down on how and why of projects, but he didn’t see the value in doinf it, but everyone else he reported to could see the gaps in reasoning.

So you got they college learning and they didn’t.
We were lucky that first year University classes were avaialble at highschool via a special accreditation. So Algebra, Calculus, Functions and Relations, English, and Physics courses were free.
At college I learned descriptive geometry, database design and programming, filesystem management, metallurgy, welding, moldflow analysis, etc. They all helped formulate / solidify ideas and methods of working through problems.
Yeah there is nothing like outside dried laundry.
Were your walls plaster and lathboards? Some of the UK houses I have seen are an inner and outer layer of brick, and running anything is a pain. You often see wiring outside of the walls because its too hard to run places.
I saw lots of violence, but what section was the sexual assault?
