I use the “warm up the water” time to rinse dishes as I load them. Seems silly to say “Don’t rinse your dishes but do run your water until hot.” Block that sink and use that water!

Everyone here is a home grown moron. We’re all just one schizophrenic meth head typing into a word doc.

Yeah but they asked about first gen Nissan Leafs which, yeah, none of those batteries are holding any type of up unless you regularly drive less than 30 miles day.

I’ve seen Russian Propaganda pushed to outlets with single digit reach. It’s like they’re subscribed to Meltwater for niche outlets or something. I wouldn’t put it past them to have a guy or two who exclusively earn their paychecks shitposting here.

You forgot “Don’t beat your wife, your husband, your kids or anyone else’s.”

All you’ve got are your actions, man, and don’t forget, your words are your actions too.
You put something out there, there’s consequences.

I always say “If your tags are expired, don’t have a body in the trunk!” which I think splits the difference between both examples.

The hell even is it? A phishing scam? Isn’t Lemmy mostly somewhat tech savvy for that type of attack?

“It’s easy to be the band of misfits who plays by their own rules and gets things done. It’s much more difficult to do exceptional work and do it the right way the whole time.”
Sort of a long form “Any job worth doing is with doing right” but focuses more on the team doing the work.
And, yes, at the time the workplace culture was firmly in the “Play hard, work to standard, cut the corners just enough that we don’t get in trouble” realm. Lots of hangovers during that job…
Absolutely, I can provide you with a cookie recipe -
[Error - Unhandled Exception Time Out on Server Response]
That’s okay [User_Name], you can trust that we’re human. Certainly couldn’t be bots, the two of us.

Poor kid’s security questions are getting leaked before he’s even got a chance to ruin his own credit, dang.
I am in the third act of Baldur’s Gate (Dark Alliance, for the GBA) and I must say, it is more enjoyable than 007 Nightfire for the GBA.

His partner asked him to read to the baby and he said to her that he didn’t want to and that he could train an AI model to replicate his voice so he didn’t have to.
She could be a nagging and needy, codependent mess but he still knocked her up and stuck around so when your partner says “Why don’t you read to the baby, it’ll be cute.” You read to the damn baby.
This is all fake and likely words you could only utter on the green text comm, so really, let’s not worry about it but this guy did, in his shitpost, say “No, I’d rather not read to my baby.” Homeboy checked out before the damn thing could even crawl over to the electrical socket and take the easy way out of being raised by him.
Not “because AI”, I just hate people who don’t read to their kids… And AI. It’s a combination of two things I hate.
I’d hope that they’re not. That would be really creepy.

Running a modern half full dishwasher is more efficient on water than washing a single pan by hand.
The old rules were in place because old stuff wasn’t as efficient. It used to be less resource heavy to fill a single sink and wash all your dishes with that.

The point is not that the children cannot listen to books but the bonding ritual that is reading to a child. Hearing the stories they like to hear. Having them ask for a specific one. Singing your child to sleep as well - you can still play music but the act of them watching you sing and hearing your voice is important.
Go listen to a Tonee or whatever when you get home from school while I’m making dinner and let your imagination run wild to Gabby’s Treehouse audio books but I’m reading Cinderella tonight.

AI. All the resources of the world go into it to tell you to make a sandwich.
Child. 18 years hard labor and you might make the kid to take down Skynet.
Children at last have a chance of paying off and doing something good.
Look, I’m not saying a first Gen leaf would not meet 95% of my needs and I’m not saying that I would not buy one if you could just convince my partner but I doubt the majority of Americans travel less than five miles for car trips.
It’s disingenuous to say “EV batteries actually hold up fine!” and then follow it up with “Well, you don’t drive that much anyway,” when presented with evidence otherwise. I know you’re not the OP of the other comment, but c’mon, this is a linear chain of thought.
