Is this some sort of cheat code? If I press these at the Google homepage does a secret menu come up?

I’ve tested two different forks of DroidDeck that add Mali support, one using the system’s blob Vulkan driver and the other using an Android kernel compatible PanVK fork. Both methods got into games, I’m excited that a mesa (PanVK) fork that can run on Android exists now as that was the breakthrough that made Snapdragon chips the preferred option for Android gaming.

I did my part first day of early voting!

I bought a used Pixel Fold at the beginning of the year because it was cheap. It was clearly used, needed a good cleaning and has some scratches when I got it. I’ve been using it heavily since, opening and closing it daily. There are a few dead pixels but I think those were there when I got it, otherwise it still works fine.

Hopefully it involves outdated datacenter GPUs flooding the open market to try and recoup what they can, selling for pennies on the dollar to anyone who will buy them, and thus people figuring out how to adapt these cards to work in consumer systems.

That’s what I plan to do, at least with ArmadaOS. I don’t think you can put actual SteamOS from Valve on it, it needs to be an ARM Linux OS tailored to the hardware that runs the SteamOS components. ArmadaOS seems to be a Fedora spin similar to Bazzite.

DroidDeck looks great but at the moment only really seems good for Qualcomm devices. I tested a fork that is adding other GPU support on my Pixel Fold yesterday and got a few games to run but most did not. Balatro ran but was missing text, Half Life 1 worked pretty much fine, a lot of games did not boot at all. I am impressed at DroidDeck’s desktop mode though, they have a Wayland KDE session and Flatpak running, something Termux doesn’t seem to have working yet.
e I just ordered an Ayn Thor recently but I’m going to put proper Linux on it with ArmadaOS or something.

RIP Minecraft happened when Notch sold out to Microsoft in the first place.
Lemmy isn’t one big place like Reddit is, it’s a bunch of different services that connect with each other. The rules of what are and are not allowed varies instance to instance, and some instances block others entirely (“defederate”) so if your instance does not allow porn, they likely defederated with instances that do. Either way, if you use the subscribed feed you shouldn’t see things outside of the communities you’ve subscribed to, and communities also have their own rules (usually more specific than the overall instance rules, same as a subreddit’s rules vs. reddit’s sitewide rules).
