  • I gotta say, its been hard. Im my experience what happens is the saner part of the fried group starts looking at you funny (you AGREE WITH THEM?!?), and over time it becomes a game of “well maybe if i just said this to them”. There are some people who are just entrenched. It becomes toxic and having to navigate through an increasing polarized environment becomes difficult. And “over on the other side of the fence“, its increasingly just different- different movies, music, social customs, and a lot of open hateful behavior, with little introspection or empathy. After a while it becomes a little hard to stomach the realization that sometimes, people do change for the worse.

  • Because when you are young and this may be your first situation, you either might not pick on the cues immediately, or it gets wierd 2/3rds of the night in. Then there are some crowds that seem nice and cool to everyone but when they think you might be cool to let in the friend zone the masks come off and all of a sudden they want to do something horrIble as a group.

Great dad. This is common sense, teaching transy, trust and open lines of communication, while teaching how to nope out of a situation and not bow in to peer pressure. Half of the reason why kids get into messes is not knowing how to handle an exit.
