Sigh… humans are predictable in the worst ways.

Sigh… humans are predictable in the worst ways.

I mean, on some level, they’re not wrong. We get what we vote for. The best government money can buy…

This just in, many liberals are attempting to vote three times in coming election!

Well, start the countdown to tragedy…

Honestly, I’m not sure that I want modern equivalents, since many are so rich in imagery.
I do love the imagery of “loose Canon”, and by “love” I mean that as it’s been described and depicted, it’s a truly horrifying situation. So it makes for a really visceral image.
A quick aside: there’s this murder mystery/logic puzzle game called “the Return of the Obra Dinn” that takes place on a merchant ship. The game is basically like a series of still frame dioramas that you have to analyze and figure out what’s going on. There’s a particularly striking scene with a cannon which breaks loose from its chains and several unfortunate sailors. It took me a long time to actually find the third sailor in the scene… (There wasn’t a lot left)

You know, one could measure the “evolutionary success” of a species by how much they are able to reproduce and pass on their genes to another generation. So the species with the highest population, or greatest biomass (either way you want to measure) could be called the most successful. By that metric the chicken would be the most evolutionarily successful bird in the world. Food for thought. 😜

Hey, I lived mostly vegetarian for several years as well, I get it. It’s totally doable, you do sort of get used to it. But when I stopped cooking for vegetarians, I went back to eating meat, and it was a relief.

It is the nature of humans to crave meat, we enjoy it. That’s the real issue. There is a very real quality of life benefit it provides to us. Maybe you don’t need that, and if so, that’s great for you. But because it really does make life better for so many people, you’re not going to see the majority of humans giving up meat any time soon. That’s the reality.

I definitely saw a movie where it was used twice… I don’t remember what I was watching…
Edit: I think I remember what it was! And the crazy part, it wasn’t even a movie, it was an episode of Star wars: the clone wars (the animated show). They’re only 25 minute episodes and they thought they’d just put it in twice anyway… It definitely made me chuckle, like “c’mon guys, really? Are you done?”.

If you’re so hung up on this being difficult, just limit your scope. Don’t have a nationwide forum, have a Seattle forum, have a separate Chicago forum, etc. It doesn’t change the fact that this is the obvious drop in solution. The idea that Facebook has some special sauce that is otherwise unachievable… Just ridiculous…

Is that surprising? At all? It’s literally in our nature.
I mean, no offense but I will continue to do what I can to be able to eat meat, it makes my life better.
I’m all for synthetic meats, or lab grown meats, as those become available. If there are more sustainable options, great. (As long as it tastes like meat)

Yeah 100%. So hey, if the cable bothers you more, then the audio port doesn’t really matter. But I just hate the battery management, so that’s where I stand.

I have no idea how old you are, if you’ve ever really used web forums, but they can be quite robust. This is obviously, clearly the technology to use. I don’t understand why you think there’s some limit, some ceiling on the number of users it can handle. The only limits are bandwidth and storage space… And with 70 million activists (as if everyone would be active on the forums, but whatever) with that many people, there will be donation funds for supplying the necessary bandwidth.
There’s just no problem here.

I think the fallout and cyberpunk both had some of those great moments of exploring morality. But in my opinion, the Witcher 2 & 3 do it better than any other games I’ve played.
Rather than spoiling the story with specific examples, I’ll just say this: these games thrive in the grey zone, it’s where they live. And you’ll often find yourself making decisions you really didn’t expect to make or seriously regretting the choice you just committed to.
Edit: now that I’ve said that, I think the banner saga also deserves a mention. That game has some hard decisions and often, some seriously dark outcomes.

I gave you one, you ignored it. And it’s not even complicated, it’s a web site with a forum…

Well if your hell bent on handing meta control, then great, do it that way.

Nice, glad that worked! I hope everything turns out high quality!

Ok…
Are you suggesting that a Facebook group could handle that?
Web forums exist (the kind that were completely ubiquitous 25 years ago). They’re a great way to handle a large number of concurrent conversations.
You can still use robust hosting solutions that can handle a lot of traffic, but the advantage of controlling the site yourself is that if wordpress decides to take it down, you can just host it somewhere else and have it back up the same day.

Yeah, I actually also use a clip, an old pair of headphones came with a little wire clip and I just pulled it off and put it on these. It’s helpful for sure.
You gotta swap out the ham for bacon, trust me on this one.
