You did! I had the same one too and I liked that I never had to try to find the right chord. People hadn’t really settled on micro USB for most things yet, so you still had 5 different flavors of usb cable floating around.

7·4 days agoI mean, I can - I know how, but boy having the GUI is nice. I can put a commit message title and a detailed message in a way that works well with my brain. Using two
-mflags will never click with me, and yes, I had to look it up again just to leave this comment.

2·4 days agoTech support has evolved since I got out. I don’t remember this specific point of confusion. However, during the last job I had that involved any level of help desk support with non-technical people, Obama was still in office.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why are there no normal electric cars instead of gimmicks on wheels?English
2·7 days agoI’m usually just driving myself and my son. It’s pretty uncommon that I need to move 3 or more people, and if I do, I can almost certainly borrow a car, so no loss there.
The ceiling height and no ability to “hang stuff over the side” - for lack of a better term - are both issues for me as well. It’s solved easily enough with a small trailer that I can pull with a hitch I had put on, but it is annoying to deal with.
I’m trying to avoid the danger of “oh! But sometimes” that the YouTuber “Tech Connections” talks about in some videos, but I think I’ve discovered a small 2 seater truck would fit me better than anything else. A kei truck could be a good fit for me as well, but I don’t know a whole lot about any specific model.

2·8 days agoI have never bought a new car and never had any intention to because of how bad of an investment they are. If slate comes through with half the features they’ve announced, then I’ll be buying one after my 2013 Subaru Outback gives out. I play music and do lots of small rural work just outside of the city. A small truck for hauling would be perfect! I don’t want a Superlift Mega Child Crusher x4500 with double crew cab, a bed 7ft off the ground and only 34 inches long, but hey, at least it has 15,000 pounds of towing capacity for when I am hauling my drum set across town or need to take plywood to my mom’s house.

This is funny.

As an avid fan of both, I’m not sure which is supposed to be which. Star Trek has all the pazzaz of a magician, psuedo science and technobable explainations. But it also has characters who are literally magical. Meanwhile, Star Wars has old people in secret societies performing rituals in robes - all very wizardly. However, in universe, their “magic” is very well understood, continuously studied, is testable, and even reproducable. They use their well established abilities to trick people, and that’s very magician.
