No one is running against Jeffries. You need someone to run against him.
I don’t think this is the hill to die on. There are so many fights to have, and this fight seems guaranteed to bloody only Democrats. Let’s fight fights that bloody the GOP.
https://jeffries.house.gov/contact/email-me/ and let him know what you expect out of the next Congress.
I love this for her.
Accountability, motherfucker! Accountability means hearings, investigations, and prosecutions.
Do popular, affordability-focused legislation as well, but accountability is part of what America told you to get on yesterday.
Took half a billion dollars and just lit that shit on fire. Got worse than nothing for it: his folks lost pretty much all the ground.
He’s a toxic fool. He’s gotta get cut down to size: nationalize SpaceX, Starlink, and prosecute him for Doge.
Certainly hoping the child-raping centaurs aren’t running my email server… but I think there’s a little more here than blissful ignorance. I think it matters that, even if my new mail CEO is as bad as Yen, he hopefully sees that he’ll be punished if he acts like Yen. Because I’m not the only one that has left Proton: I think Yen is really going to feel the heat. Hopefully that deflates the egos of other techbro overlords…
No free service is good if you care about privacy.
They are given fewer voting locations for larger populations, leading to long lines, and requiring a lot more effort from the voter to get their ballot cast.
Yeah, I canceled my sub. I have no idea if the CEO of my new email provider is any better, but I know that Yen is abusive to his employees, and that matters to me. I know he’s deep in the throes of AI psychosis, and that makes me not trust him at all. I’m gone.
Love the enthusiasm, but you lose points on feasibility.
“I want to keep losing, so that I can feel pure!”
That’s you.
Liberals need to make the case that some things are not amenable to free market solutions. Healthcare is one: everyone puts an infinite value on their existential health, meaning there is no reason for healthcare providers to not maximize fees, all out of proportion to their own costs. Healthcare, utilities, these need to be regulated by the state, strongly.
The terrible thing with this is that it’s these Neolib Clinton Dems that piss off the voters, and inspire the “both sides are the same” accusations. That’s where a lot of folks stop.
But if you want to change a party to be on the side of the people, willing to reinvigorate progressive tax laws, you need to vote Dem, and force the Dems to the left. You’re not going to force the GOP to the left, at all. They are absolutely the political arm of the richest. They do not exist as a party without the top 1%.
The Dems used to be more Left, and like to pretend they’re still the same New Deal folks they’ve always been. They’re not, but voters can force them to be again. Let your elected reps know what you expect of them, and threaten to primary them from the left all the time. The party can be moved. It’s definitely in need of fixing, but it can be done. Just like the Tea Party and then MAGA transformed the GOP, so too can the Dems be transformed by passionate progressives. You just have to realize that opting out, and hating the Dems for not already being what they should be, is just saying you want to lose, and to always lose.
Nothing not funny about this.
Most of the country still thinks the Dems want to defund the police, and most don’t want it. They also aren’t going to be too well informed about how DHS fits into the country: it sounds like it’s protecting them, and taking it away is being “soft on crime” or “open borders”. That turns the conservatives out, too.
“Defund the police” was a major contributor to Trump winning again. That’s not a message a lot of the country reacts well to.
Same thing here. Win before you start saying shit like this.
For everyone who was Team Newsom when he was busy taunting Trump with his tweets, this is why not everyone was bought in to Newsom 4 Prez. He’s a lizard.
No, just not inexperienced with elections and realpolitik. Online progressives insist on shooting their friends before shooting the enemy, and the stupidity drives me nuts.
