Europe@feddit.org•Winter tyres in Europe, 2026–27: the rule in every country, week by week [OC]English
2·8 days agoThey are still functional tyres. I’ve been driving on all season tyres for years now and it’s never been an issue.
I live in a country with a relatively mild climate, so we don’t really get extreme winters or summers. All season tyres are plenty good enough for the occional light dusting of snow in winter.

5·9 days agoThese days there exist four-season tyres, which to my knowledge meet the requirements of countries that require winter tyres in winter or wintery conditions.

World News@lemmy.world•The mothers of Bukele’s prisoners, caught between sadness and hope: ‘Even if they are released, their lives have been destroyed’English
11·9 days agoYou are running from the assumption that anyone who is locked up in these prisons is also actually guilty of having been involved in gang violence. However there is a lot of indication that a significant portion of innocent people have been swept up in the prisons as well, without access to a proper legal defence.
And, in my opinion, the Salvadorian prison system is so horrifically barbaric that accidentally innocently locking people up is akin to violating their basic human rights.

Technology@lemmy.world•AI Billionaires Are Flooding Money Into Politics to Influence Elections, But It’s Backfiring: Even a whiff of AI money seems to disgust voters.English
48·9 days agoAnnoyingly it also turned the word “lobby” into a contaminated dirty word, even though lobbying is a healthy and important part of a functional democracy.
Any group collectively arguing in favour of their interest to the government is a lobby. That group can be anything from employers, to unions, to civil rights advocates.
The problematic part is the bribery, not the fact that there is interest groups lobbying the government.

19·20 days agoRetro-revival trends happen every few decades in the car world. We were due for another one.
As long as it means interesting looking cars, I’m all for it!
I group my albums by artist, and I sort them by artist, then year of release, then album name.
Each song in the album is sorted by track number.Music/Albums/Pink Floyd/Pink Floyd (1973) - The Dark Side of the Moon/06 Pink Floyd - Money.flacI also make sure all tags are set correctly so that they get sorted correctly in programs like Jellyfin and Finamp
I think there is a very big difference between listening to Michael Jackson’s music in 2026 and engaging with the Harry Potter universe in 2026.
Michael Jackson is dead, so any money going to his estate isn’t actively being used anymore for malicious purposes. JK Rowling is very much still alive, and actively using her position and wealth to try and eliminate trans people from public life.
Any money going to Harry Potter is also money going to JK Rowling and therefor supports transphobia

Thanks! I always seem to get a singular downvote on every image I post here
