Before upgrading my server to a DDR4 platform, I’m pretty sure I had bought the last 32 GB kit of DDR3 in the country. Dude at the store was surprised it was even there.

I’m not excusing the behavior of the corporate leadership here, but I think that the problem would have shown up regardless. Even cheap goods are too expensive if your income is $0.
Some form of basic income is going to be required, but good luck convincing anyone of that before the violence starts.
The point is that you should have the financial freedom to support a family on a single income. The “marriage” part isn’t what’s important.
Double income, no kids, used to be a trope where the couple had all kinds of time and money to do whatever. Now it’s almost the minimum to not be homeless.
Some of that is due to the 2008 bullshittery. Bank are trying not to get caught holding the bag again when mortgage rates rise and people end up underwater.
I’d say automation played a decent sized part in that as well. A massive chunk of those high paying jobs were factory work. A lot of those production type tasks were automated away, and the increased number of maintenance jobs required doesn’t even come close to covering that loss of required factory workers.

So the author first states that we have to make sure we aren’t buying equipment to fight yesterday’s wars, since the Ukrainian war has shown that drones and missile strikes seem to be the current way forward, but then turns around and advocates buying more F35s.
Pick a direction. You don’t need a stealth fighter to shoot down drones. A fleet of cheaper, more available Gripens would be better suited to home defense anyone. At least, that seems to be the opinion of the guy in charge of NORAD.

I’d say that Quebec separatists are a slightly different ball of wax. That movement started before Canada or the US were even countries.

It’s that stuff you download to make your computer run faster.

So PEIs 4 ridings are an affront to BC and completely unfair?
The raw voters per riding metric has never, and will never be the sole determination in riding size and location. All that would do is completely eliminate what little influence that the more rural parts of the country have. Even in riding rich Ontario, ask the Northern ridings how influential they feel.

It’s a victory in the sense that it’s a major headache that he’s now not going to have to deal with.

So you want to solve east - west alienation, by amplifying urban - rural, while not actually addressing any of the east-west “issues”?

Not a good assumption. There’s a lot of locations in Canada where they ran cables overland not following roads.

Even if there’s no roads, there’s likely power lines. In some areas, they distribute the power underwater. It could very well be that they ran the network alongside the power.

A loose group of governments led by Saudi Arabia, Russia and India, and also including China and Kenya, have raised objections to publishing the report in 2028
I mean, is it really a tough question?

With this being a map of undersea cables, one of the nodes on those lines likely connects to the terrestrial network. With how remote and shitty to build on a lot of that land is, laying the cables undersea may have actually been faster and cheaper than laying them on land.

That’s because Americans do it wrong. The people in charge know that there is no real solidarity amongst the population, so they can just wait it out. The riots won’t spread, won’t last longer than a week or two at worst, and everything will go right back to the status quo once the new shiny distraction comes out.

Depending on how it was raised, there’s a decent chance it imprinted on humans, and therefore identifies as one, and would be extremely offended that you are saying it can’t be one

The whole keeping all the boxes thing seems to me like it applies to boomers more than millennials. I don’t have the space (nor the desire) to be keeping any boxes, while my parents have boxes from things they bought in 1985.
Even more fun is that US customary units are explicitly defined by their metric equivalents. So the US is using metric whether they like it or not, they just slap pointless conversion factors on top.
I’ve entered my crotchety old man phase early. Amazon has given me an unreasonable hatred of online shopping, and therefore I do everything in my power to find brick and mortar places to shop at.
