Not much of a video gamer myself (I play chess and sometimes boardgames, that’s about it) but I 100% support that ;)
A 50-something French dude that’s old enough to think blogs are still cool, if not cooler than ever. I also like to write and to sketch.

Reading crisis among young people? Solved :)
I would so much wish for those younger people that do not read anymore, or that have never been told to read by their parents or school, to realize they’re the ones getting screwed here.
By being spared the effort (as it is an effort, that is true) to make reading into a real habit, they’re the ones that are not getting prepared as well as they could be for their adult life… while other kids (oftentimes form wealthier families) are getting very well prepared… to compete against them and to screw them (like our billionaire friends arr already doing today). Those richer kids are reading, a lot more.
As a child, I hated reading (it was a pain in the ass) but I was still required to read books, daily (thx to my grandfather and dad). I hated that until i realized the leverage all what I was reading gave me onto other people. And then, I started realizing there were indeed books I liked to read, for fun mind you, and some I loved reading! And loved them so much I would be reading them over and over again all my life.
Reading is a weapon. I would have though this idea would be quite obvious to US citizens (hi from France), more than anyone else, as they already have the constitutional right to bear weapons, right? Why don’t they exercise said right to learn to use the most powerful of those weapons: books.
And of the rant, back to Calvin… but if you aren’t already start reading, now. And make it into a habit.
Edit: clarifications.
I know, the world moved to streaming
I did not. I tried (most) streaming services and I decided it was not worth my money (with the full support of my wife).
I buy the DVD, used as much as possible on Ebay or on our own French version of Craiglist: leboncoin, when there is something we want to watch and we don’t already have a DVD… that has become kinda rare for the last 15 years or so as there is almost nothing (and nothing on streaming platforms) either my wife and I would be willing to waste our time watching.
And what if we want to watch something and there is no DVD available? Well, there are more than enough excellent movies and series we can already watch on DVD, or rewatch. So, no DVD version? Their loss, not ours.
I don’t purchase BR as I don’t want to deal with that on my Linux computer (we don’t have TV at home, we use a computer ;)
no one can fathom the savage mind of a jungle cat! Ha! he’s a killer to the core!
Too bad, I can’t paste Hobbes face here but still <3
Once upon a time… not so much in our time, sadly :(
Indeed. The reason why men of power should be kept under control thx to the separation of powers (a neat little idea), safeguarding institutions and the rule of laws.
The real threat represented by any of our many super-heroes, including the best of them all Stupendous Man: they’re more than likely to start believing they’re their own moral compass and that they’re above the laws.
Luckily for us, this is fiction, like super-heroes, and no one has ever heard of any real person in power presenting themselves as their own and sole moral compass, putting themselves above the laws. If that was to ever happen, man would we be in some serious shit.

Isn’t that precisely the scariest part? ;)
There’s the ADHD.
You mean ‘imagination’?
Make it a 50. She is too nice ;)
Now, has anyone recent news about Chuck and Rosalyn?
There are things that shall not be discussed on the Internet: how flat the earth really is being one of them, how kids can discover the existence of ‘Venusian Vampire Vixen’ being another :p
Or maybe he may have heard a certain bully, I did not say Moe, talk about that highly regarded movie. Who knows.
‘Venusian Vampire Vixen’, probably one of my favorite movie I must say.

Not related to bots but more about account deletion, something I’ve been wishing for a long time is to make a separation between a user being able to delete their account if they fancy so and their content actually being removed. Content could just be anonymized or, at least, if the content is to actually be removed, a placeholder should be put in its place because when they delete their account not only do they delete their own posts but they also delete all comments made by other participants which is unfair and can also be a real loss as some comments are really interesting.
Did they ask for consent?
