For me, sleep apnea’s can’t breathe usually immediately jolts me awake, brought on by something in the dreamstate, the first time it was driving into a lake and drowning, then sitting up hyperventilating. Sleep paralysis is a lot scarier, I tend to be, or at least perceive to be, awake and in my bed, but there’s something else there, and for one reason or another, that thing keeps me from breathing, maybe it’s to not make a sound, maybe it’s stealing my breath, I dunno, but it keeps me from hitting that jolt awake moment with the hyperventilating. The post felt more like the second one.

solarpunk memes@slrpnk.net•Why Trains would NEVER WORK in the USA
1·5 days agoThis is the bigger thing I think, Luke AmTrak at least west of the Mississippi doesn’t have a whole lot of options for long distance travel, there’s functionally one train that goes west from Chicago and one train that goes east to Chicago and that’s only if you want to be in the north, but if the rails were govt owned, it would be easier to justify adding more trains and more destinations because they could start making the service note reliable.
I don’t pick a side in the civil war, but I will murder Thalmor and Stormcloaks indiscriminately.
Skip all vanilla quest lines, go do Dawnguard, get sexy vampire wife, grab the plantation from the creation club and live rest of my Skyrim days recreating the anime Farming Life in Another World while power leveling my alchemy.

I was listening to an interview with Meredith Whitaker (Signal’s CEO) yesterday on the Futurology Podcast. Her response to the “I have nothing to hide” comment was to imagine being sat down in a room and given access to a database of every text you’ve ever sent. Imagine that searchable database is not just at your disposal. Every bad day you’ve ever had complaining about your boss to a coworker, people, especially lawyers, love to take things out of context.
