Small business owners are not just fucking McDonalds franchises. Some are cafe owners, boardgame store owners, IT companies. These are not slave labor organizations but small teams of people working together in a system that demands capital to survive. They’re absolutely pivotal because they often can provide services at better rates for their community, or are social hubs without needing to spend capital. They absolutely are pivotal because they can teach people trades while earning for a living. They absolutely are pivotal because they’re not greedy corpos trying to extract every ounce of capital from their community, they’re most regular ass people looking to just get by. They usually provide fair wages to their small teams so they can also survive. They provide direct alternatives to buying from big box corporations or ordering off Amazon, Temu, or whatever bullshit online megastore. Some source their product organically and some wholesale.

Do you not go to social gathers like boardgame groups or outings? Do you not travel at all? Your worldview is extremely narrow.

  • What a dogshit ass take. Small business owners are hardly “selling their humanity to be a owning-class pig”. Most people just try to get by in the system they’re born into. Many small businesses aren’t beholden to some franchise and are pivotal to bringing their small community together.

Like, what fucking system do you live in were you don’t work and only provide for those around you? Are you farming your own produce to disperse among your community or do you work some bullshit ass job like the rest of the world so you can virtue signal on Lemmy to feel better about your situation? My bet is on the latter.

    Get fucking real.

  • Is it really a fascist lie?

At least in the U.S. the educational burden has certainly increased. The cost of living, the closing of schools and combining of districts, the stagnant wages of teachers, the shortage of teachers due to the stagnation, the automation of jobs is removing apprenticeships, LLMs do not teach as well as doing things hands on. The influence of social media is still a strong pull and media literacy feels like it’s at a low in the U.S.

I have a feeling in the next decade we’re going to start seeing the consequences as boomers age out of legacy jobs and automation takes the place where educated workers used to.

he wants to throw egg into the face of Democrats when they don’t provide universal healthcare?

Yes, absolutely. That’s just the kind of person he has been so far. Ignorant leftists blame Democrats for not backing Universal Healthcare, DJT points out that that’s a possibility if Democrats get majority (which is absolutely is not), it’s a simple ploy is all. DJT throws things at the wall constantly to see what sticks.

Look at it creating a buzz here. Surely it’s making it’s rounds on Reddit, Facebook, and X as well. Unless it’s a narrative that him and his cronies keep pushing, it’ll be done talked about by tomorrow.

If it does end being a narrative they keep pushing, it makes Democrats look weak as it’s not something they can commit to even though it’s something a majority of American would want.

You can open the floodgates but if a plan is not in place to displace the water it’ll overcome the system.

The for-profit system is also already slow as balls. It chugs along fine at a snails pace.

To say there’s not a educational shortage on degrees that take up to 8+ years in a country that is already facing an educational deficit I think is the real irrational. Planning is an important step that shouldn’t just be left as an afterthought.

I’m be real, and ain’t nobody wanna hear this but…

Even with full health insurance, most hospitals and doctors in my 50 mile radius area either do not accept patients or are booked out to 5 months. I really think we have a educational problem that’s leading to not enough qualified doctors. I also see a lot of “Nurse Practitioners” and actual MDs that are running rounds at multiple area hospitals.

Not only does DJT know that Democrats won’t pass Universal Healthcare (setting them up for failure), but doing so would lead to cutting corners on actually educating qualified doctors, possibly leading to more harm than good.

IMO the bigger issue is education, planning, and prioritizing. We (as a Nation) can’t go all in on Universal Healthcare without planning and prioritizing education and ensuring that our system can handle the flood of new patients.
