World News@lemmy.ml•Azov was found to be holding men in a basement, some heavily abused, in a village neighboring Kyiv, Petropavlivska Borshchahivka, after protesters break in. A 14 year old was included in the rescued.

Memes@lemmy.ml•It is better to be at the bottom of a ladder that you want to be on and not in the middle of one that you don’t want to be on
4·9 days agoThat’s true, and past experience has shown us the necessity of ladder armoring and having our own flamethrowers to ensure a safe jobsite. As for the match-tossers, they can be overcome with numbers, which are more in our favor and less in theirs every week.

Memes@lemmy.ml•Thinking Ukrainians shouldn't be forcibly conscripted to die for no reason, in a pointless war they don't want to fight, makes you a tankie
11·9 days agoWell you see sweetie, that’s just not very realistic. Don’t let perfect be the enemy of good, and right now there’s a peace deal on the table
This is all you guys have anymore: you just take the most obvious salient critiques that you have absolutely no answer for, put them in a box labelled “Enemy Thoughts”, and accuse anyone who engages with them of entertaining enemy thoughts.
When your decisions are definitely based in maximizing the preservation of all human life and not just your own desire to avoid thinking about what you’ve become in the name of comfort.
Hey what’s your take on ending the Ukraine war? I think they should take the peace deal. Better that than to do nothing, and let even more Ukranians be kidnapped and trafficked to the front lines by their government.
Anyway, the idea that somehow the Democrats held back the genocide in any way is a straight up lie, a desperate cope. The greatest volume of daily killing took place under the democrats. If I was someone who didn’t understand material conditions and thought a genocide was just a little dial you can turn, I could easily argue that it’s the republicans who slowed down the genocide. Of course, in reality the only people slowing down the genocide are the peopledrone striking Merkavas and firing hypersonic missiles into Tel Aviv. Certainly not the amerikan fascists sending bunker busters to the r@pe-and-exterminate-em-all country. Biden deliberately kept arms packages under a limit that would trigger congressional oversight and just sent more of them. He fucking lied to the world about seeing 40 beheaded babies to push the image of the Arab savage at the start of the genocide. He’s a nazi, the party is nazis, and you’re a dumb nazi for supporting them while they build the next camp here for your prole ass.

Memes@lemmy.ml•It is better to be at the bottom of a ladder that you want to be on and not in the middle of one that you don’t want to be on
81·9 days agoLibs aren’t even on the middle of their ladder, this metaphor is more charitable to them than I would be. They’re on the bottom of their ladder too, but their ladder is full of rich pedophiles and nazis stomping on their fingers while laughing and demanding fealty. It’s a long ladder, it’s certainly tall, and it might have been useful if it wasn’t laden with gatekeeping parasites that render it useless for climbing, but that’s not on the table. They’ll kill you first.
Our ladder is short, but we have all the wood and nails in the world to make it longer, and it’s not rotten or straining under the weight of an entire empire’s corruption.
One group will leave you to die cause they want to, the other will leave you to die cause they think they have to (and secretly want to) and they think that makes them not just better, but so much better that you’re thr asshole for not being enthusiastic about your own backstabbing.

Privacy@lemmy.ml•Californians revolt against police drones after rapid adoption across state
3·11 days agoThey make shells for longer birding ranges that are like hybrids between birdshot and buckshot, but at that range you’d need a pretty skilled shooter with a good gun, and then you still have the problems that come with firing a gun. Unfortunately nobody has found a compact, easy-to-replicate mid-range solution. Buuuut if you’re an electronics person with a little knowledge, I’ve seen both internet hobbyists and Ansarallah soldiers with DIY directed jammers the size of a large rifle.
