Europe@feddit.org•Bulgaria suggests Russia behind ship attack that left 11 sailors missingEnglish
1·20 hours agoBy that logic all merchant vessels of every conflict are military targets because they facilitate economic activity.
You can support someone while still being critical of their actions.
Hell even Iran and Ansar Allah’s blockades attempt to warn ships and follow proper maritime procedure when possible, what Russia and Ukraine are doing both on land and at sea is inexcusable considering they have far more capability to minimize damage to non-military targets.
Exactly, when its nighttime, the sun goes to Australia.

Europe@feddit.org•Bulgaria suggests Russia behind ship attack that left 11 sailors missingEnglish
4·2 days agoIt literally is, even though the US and Russia like to claim civilian infrastructure is “dual use” to pretend they’re actually military targets.
`PART III: BASIC RULES AND TARGET DISCRIMINATION SECTION I: BASIC RULES
-
In any armed conflict the right of the parties to the conflict to choose methods or means of warfare is not unlimited.
-
Parties to the conflict shall at all times distinguish between civilians or other protected persons and combatants and between civilian or exempt objects and militaryobjectives.
-
In so far as objects are concerned, military objectives are limited to those objects which by their nature, location, purpose or use make an effective contribution to military action and whose total or partial destruction, capture or neutralization, in the circumstances ruling at the time, offers a definite military advantage.
-
Attacks shall be limited strictly to military objectives. Merchant vessels and civil aircraft are civilian objects unless they are military objectives in accordance with the principles and rules set forth in this document.`

They said they wouldn’t cede any territory, including Crimea. If you take any possible concessions off the table, you are not open to negotiation.

Who do you think started the war
In order of responsibilty: Russia’s government when they invaded thinking they could just parade into Kiev and be welcomed as liberators, America’s government, when we supported a coup in Ukraine and didn’t leverage Ukraine to purge the military of nazis or just enforce minsk II, Ukraine’s government, when they refused to negotiate peace, apparently holding dominion over the Russian-speaking lands is more important than the millions displaced, wounded, or killed in the last 4 years.
Both Putin and Zelenskyy are billionaires. Both Russia and Ukraine are bourgeois “democracies”. This is a war over whether Russian or western and Ukrainian billionaires will own everything in Ukraine and Russia. No workers freedom is going to be won here.
All of Ukraine’s state assets were already sold off to the west for pennies and Russia seized whatever it wanted in the territory it holds.
We are not sending weapons to help the Ukrainian people.

1·3 days agoWell yes, religion exists within society and that society’s pressures determine which interpretations and philosophies are amplified and which are silenced.
Each country has things it is worse at, and America does have some redeeming features.
I have never been to the UK so I won’t make any statements on whether it has any redeeming features.
I’d a coworker who asked the builders to put ethernet jacks in.
They put rj11 phone jacks in instead.
Thats what we tell the kids, in reality it the holiday was invented centuries later as part of a national project.

They’re not, they just don’t think we should be giving weapons to another fascist state to prolong the billionaire’s war.
The libs don’t actually want to contend with conflicting view points so they just tell people what their opposition thinks.
You don’t actually believe that, if you thought any instance had a lot of unlabeled bots, you’d just report them.

Guangzhou isn’t that bad, have you been there recently?
I learned to ride in Hanoi, I spent a year in various parts of vietnam and was very comfortable in SEA traffic on a bike.
None of that prepared me for the chaos of HCMC. People going the wrong way, people visibly drunk on bikes, randomly finding yourself surrounded by semis on cracked and broken pavement, you and 20 other bikes making offroad detours to get around cars.
