Don’t confuse having deep enough pockets to dissuade lawsuits with actually adhering to the law.

just because AI can find a working pattern doesn’t make it good
I have seen so much from AI supporters saying “it can be a good tool” to save time, but I’m not sure I’ve ever heard anyone try to make the claim that it’s a tool that leads to better code. That should be very telling.

Something tells me he won’t care as much after the midterms are over.

I legitimately don’t understand this argument.
Can you elaborate why Steam is singled out for this? Something beyond “Steam bad”?

If you’re looking in the Bible for morals, you’re probably looking in the wrong place.

Trump will order it renamed it to the SS Liberal or some other stupid shit before it sinks.
Jokes aside, this is sad. SS United States is a tremendous part of maritime history, and because of money, we literally have to destroy it. May as well have scrapped it back in the day and spat in the faces of those who tried to save it.
In the US specifically, capitalism has been taught as the only way towards success. This has happened for decades, at least. It is deeply engrained in that society.
When capitalism fails, as has been apparent so many times lately, it is blamed on something else. And as the excuses run out, the scapegoats get more and more inventive.
That’s one reason why the current administration wants to you blame immigrants for everything: because it buys more time for the capitalists to make more money and shift the narrative again.

A lot of voters (based on my own experience, a lot of older voters – yes I am aware there are many exceptions) are simply afraid of the word “socialism”.
There are many good reasons why, not the least of which is it being at the center of a decades-long campaign by the US government to demonize anything that isn’t unfettered capitalism.
Until there isn’t such a clear divide, this will be exploited. They know that a whole swath of voters who otherwise believe themselves to be progressive will falter at the polls if the S word comes up. It is one of the points of such a psyop.

Something tells me it’s actually just a “did”, considering the thing happened and now it’s getting brought up.

I tried it on Linux the other day. Every time I spawned into the world I was immediately killed (by the same account) after glitching weirdly. I assume it’s an exploit.
When I spawned myself into an “Invite Only” instance, since I was just wanting to play alone anyway, I was able to spawn but was then kicked out by Battleye after about 45 seconds.
What a cluster.

There was another recent post going around Lemmy that GTA VI was a “single-player experience” (a Rockstar quote), with some other speculation that GTA:O, if/when it is revamped, will be a standalone product.

“They’re eating the dogs, they’re eating the cats”
It’s easy to have forgotten that, because the zone is flooded so no one can keep up. But he said that on live national TV, and then he still won an election. The US has problems deeper than Trump.

Just wait until he finds out that SI means yes in Spanish.
I don’t think many people realize what a kick-the-can-down-the-road kind of failure the SSN now is as a concept, since it’s also being used as a kind of national ID. It’s part of the reason why identity theft against US citizens just gets easier and easier.
Before the 1980s, it was common not to even have a SSN before the age of 15 or so, since it was originally only to be used for financial purposes. It was government action against tax fraud which ultimately made it common to get one assigned effectively from birth: eventually the feds required a SSN for any child over 2 years of age named as a dependent for tax purposes.
But you definitely should never be carrying the card around with you.
Fair enough. But still less liquid than real capital, which is my only point.
Litigation is mostly too expensive for anyone but the super rich, even for more basic things.
