I don’t here anything different from the original aside from the volume fade-in at the start?

Canada@lemmy.ca•Telus Wants Canada’s $100 Roaming Cap Scrapped, Says It’s No Longer Needed | iPhone in Canada
1·5 days agoI think it kinda makes sense that they’d push to keep phone numbers alive. There’s definitely a relationship between them and the carriers. But I don’t see why we can’t keep phone numbers but have free global calling and texting. Is it not all just running on the same infrastructure as the internet, anyway? This isn’t the early 1900s where we had switchboard operators and copper running from house to house
3rd or 4th pic confirms that it does!

Canada@lemmy.ca•Telus asks CRTC to make filing telecom complaints more difficult
6·10 days agoCRTC should oblige by hammering regulations so hard on the carriers that customers won’t need to complain about things, thus making it harder for them to file complaints in the first place.
Solve the problem, not the symptoms right?

101·10 days agoI don’t even understand why roaming or global long distance is a thing. I can go to a website in Australia and it doesn’t cost extra, I could also access a home network in Canada from a computer in Australia… Weird isn’t it?

8·11 days agoAnd with the masses comes enshitificafion.
The money goes to Linux, then all the proprietary trash makes its way to Linux, along with the money.
That will choke out the FOSS tools that we’ve long enjoyed.
And we’re right back to square one.
Let the masses have their trash, lest they ruin yet another good thing for us.

Imagine looking at the USA on fire and thinking “Yes, this is what we should do instead of taxing the economic leeches hoarding the lion’s share of the wealth”
Hang them upside down and shake them until they’re penniless. Let them live in the shit world they created and forced everybody else to live in, and use their money to put back into all the services that have been choked year after year… Why is this so difficult?
