Truly amazing how something that was amazing news is now just a bowl of sour grapes any time I see it.

Seems to be way worse there. Every post is “AI-assisted”.

You don’t understand, now we can get new mods and new modern features in these old games because of this!

I’m sure it’s only a matter of time before malware hits people’s computers from all of these vibecode projects.

I’ve just left the Golden Sun reddit community because the user base there is foaming at the mouths for all of the decomp/recomp projects happening. The mods did a vote and just over half of the votes agreed to allow AI coded projects. They still don’t want gen AI art, there, though. I suppose an artist can use AI to code a game, but coders can’t use AI to make art.

I don’t know what to tell you, I got my information from an Australian, and everything I’ve seen online confirms this.

For anyone that doesn’t know, currently because of stuff like this, people in Australia can’t even access their Steam games that they’ve already bought unless they have a credit card, which I’ve learned most people over there don’t. Valve isn’t allowing the third-party ‘steal your data’ options like face scan and government ID, so Australian folk without a CC are out of luck.

Australians, please fight back against these anti-privacy laws. If these are successful, they’ll come to other countries.
