You can learn about Linux and computers without having to compile everything. I’m sure Gentoo is important but your answer is negligent. Does using Fedora make me less knowledgeable? This assume if I do not HAVE to compile then I must be too dumb to learn Linux by reading voluntarily.

Honestly running anything that isn’t Synology made on their devices is a pain. Also, without knowing how old the device is, it’s also a challenge to make a recommendation. As the other user replied Jellyfin is a good one, can run music, movies and tv, and home media too.
