  • People like to talk, and often already debate real life things to a level that borderlines on tedium, but they enjoy it. Anyone who has been in a group of academics in a conversation are familiar with this.

When it comes to fiction, I don’t look into it too deeply, but suspension of disbelief only goes so far. The logic of the work must make some kind of sense in the world that it takes place.

    • If there is a civilization underwater, did they evolve to have gills or do they stay inside oxygen filled bubbles?
    • If you can move objects with your mind, can be strengthen like a muscle and does it get tired out?

    And the most important:

    • If a character is evil, why are they that way? Lost sight of a lofty goal? Revenge for a past wrong? TBI?

This is why I’m not a big fan of “magic” because it seems like a lazy way to explain a phenomenon in fiction.

  • You’re making an [incorrect] assumption and then challenging people to prove it to you.

Idk if this is rage bait, AI trolling, or you’re trying to get people to do your debate class homework for you, but you’re not gonna get anyone with any braincells to say science has weaknesses.

You might as well be asking someone to prove to you the drawbacks of breathing. Sure, someone could twist their brain to come up with something, but any answer will be contrived to fit your inane question.

  • Wtf is this question? How is “we can do it in groups” specifically a strength? You can also do science alone. Is this asking about some high school chemistry class?

The question is never “should we do science” because the answer is always yes. The question should be “what knowledge can we gain from science”.

Everyone knows when you drop an apple, it hits the ground. Science explores the reasoning for why it happens, and opens understanding for other fields that can apply the same principles like civil engineering, rocket science, space exploration, etc…
