Yes sure, local models exist. But somehow the big flashy projects use the big flashy models. Local models are usable, but not as capable as the big cloud models, to which they have tied their development practice.
Maybe she wouldn’t do it, even if she knew, since she has you to do it for her.

Just keep going, the socks and HRT are a random byproduct, not a necessity.

The current business model of the big LLM providers is unsustainable. They are burning money to get people hooked. Which means maintaining and developing these applications will become a lot more expensive, once the providers need to make money. If these projects don’t have a solid plan for this event, they’ll probably just get abandoned.

Thanks for the clarification, I was genuinely confused.

One more here!
There should be a tool recommender, which tells you the tool you’d want to use, depending on your preferences and use case.

I assumed wine needed the flag, not the exe file, as the program being executed is wine.

Impossible!

So, Europeans are not buying enough tokens? And spending is a race?

What exactly was slow? For me it was the natural choice to use evil, since I used vim before. The biggest change was not opening and closing the editor all the time, as i did with vim. You just keep emacs open and if you absolutely need a terminal, you open one in emacs.

No problemo, emacs has you covered with evil mode, so you can use vim keybindings in emacs.

Sorry, but you don’t need an LLM to generate database migrations, there is already proper tooling for this. And if you really think you need an LLM, why not run it the solarpunk way: with renewable energy?
LibreOffice has the ability to use regex in search&replace, MS Office does not. So why should i use a copy of the inferior product?

Kids get some cancer, so shareholders can get more money. Equivalent exchange or whatever.

Calling it the first seems a bit stretched, since I have Krita installed on my android tablet. Interesting nonetheless, since Krita UI is not really optimized for mobile.
I just hope it will collapse very soon, this whole “let’s burn more fossil fuels to run LLMs” thing is way too depressing. I actually enjoy programming and this timeline makes me sad.
