I don’t run a server for a family. I have about 7 TB of movies, TV series, and anime. It isn’t hard but one of the primary jobs is that it discovers my media, identifies it, and makes it available. When it identifies things incorrectly or doesn’t identify them at all and I see 10 of the same thing instead of one with 10 seasons it’s a bit of a nuisance.
It is still a relatively first world problem but I wish it did a better job more consistently.
Yeah. I’m only torn between Jellyfin and Emby. Emby seems to handle hardware acceleranion better without any additional setup and I find the automatic identification of my media really inconsistent between them. Sometimes I get fed up with one and move to the other and everything is automatically detected. Then as I slowly add stuff things are no longer automatically detected well. I move back to the other one and I find that lots of things aren’t automatically detected.

I hope it stays or even gets further restricted. Like properly fucking the providers still trying to charge setup / cancellation / etc fees that are now deemed illegal in Canada.
Locked phones aren’t really a thing in Canada; they are all unlocked. That doesn’t dictate the eSIM switching process be easy between devices though :/
Also, wtf is with the “only one or two eSIMs” limit. That physical eSIM card I bought will fit as many fit in storage; something like 8 apparently. I hate arbitrary “no, only X” limits without a justification.
There is only zero, one, and N (more than can be used because of physical or natural limits) in my mind. :P
Well related because just buying a phone outright in my area is not easy. I have to ship the phone direct from manufacturer because all the major retailers refuse to sell unless you buy through a contract.
They are working hard on taking away SIM cards so that you can’t move to another phone without your provider charging you and giving you an okay.
Yes in theory eSIM cards are better, but the way many providers handle issuing you an eSIM card is a nightmare. Whereas with a physical SIM I can just pull it out and put it in any phone that supports that provider without a problem.
I went as far as buying one of those physical SIM cards that holds e-sims on it so that I can swap that into a new phone. But newer phones are more frequently not coming with SIM slots at all.
No they don’t take regular soap.
They take a much thinner version of soap so at the very least you would have to take regular soap and experiment to figure out how much to dilute it by and then dilute it before putting it in the foaming dispenser. That’s even more work and potentially messier than just refilling it more often with regular soap.
Yeah my SO and I go through those little bottles. She washes her hands obsessively but even when it was just me, I basically never want to have to refill it. It doesn’t help that we have four different soap dispensers throughout the house at different sinks and for different purposes so it feels like one of them always needs to be refilled.
I agree. Why TF do I have to refill the soap every week. Why can’t I refill once a year.
I tried to buy foaming soap because I had to refill less often, but no one offers refills 😡
