Those who proudly tout their “brutal honesty” are much more interested in the brutality than in the honesty.

I’d add that the cooking community here on Lemmy is helpful, too. It’s active enough that you can constantly get ideas.

If you are a couple just about every meal feeds four which is dinner plus leftover lunch for the both of you.
That’s how my partner and I do it. Dinner tonight and leftovers for lunch tomorrow. Occasionally we make a larger batch of something and end up eating leftovers for dinner again.

My husband isn’t the greatest at cooking with no recipe
Ha, this is basically me. I count myself as a passable cook so long as I have a recipe to follow. I’m MUCH more limited if I have to improvise.
Fortunately for me, there are a lot of recipes available online.
One of my roomies did this one year when I was in college. He’d left his graduation gown hanging on the sprinkler in the bathroom, and he’d been drinking a bit (oops, dry campus, he got in trouble for that). I didn’t see it happen, but I heard the sound of running water and “OH FUCKING SHIT! SHIT!” etc.
They turned off the water pretty quickly, but then apparently someone had flushed a toilet on the other side of the building right before they shut the water off, so when they turned ON the water again, it flooded THAT side.
It was a brand-new dorm, too. Oof.

At least they weren’t expecting some kind of … Spanish Inquisition!

What makes you more of a language authority than the goddamn dictionary?

They posted in the /r/talesfromtechsupport, IIRC. IT-turned-lawyer, mostly posting about IT security consulting.

I’ll defer to Webster on this one.

This is my favorite IT joke

What about those who were expecting a trinary joke?

This always reminds me of
"Oh, Johnny was a chemist’s son
But Johnny is no more
For what Johnny thought was H20
Was H2SO4!"

I write code, and I see the point they’re making. It has the same feel as “chemistry is just applied physics” and such.

Are you the inverse of lawtechie from reddit?
