They are not anti-LLM, otherwise they wouldn’t have said about running llm the solarpunk way.

I agree on your point, if they just stated “I think that making it with an llm is a problem because xyz” I wouldn’t have answered that. Identity politics is very much in the how not in the what you believe in.

We are on a solarpunk forum, if we don’t talk about technology and politics with nuance where the hell can we do it? The rest of the internet is already full of low context low effort answers; OP tried to improve the funding situation for supposedly good orgs, we should be criticizing if the approach is right etc, not just shooting a “oh traces of llm then why do u use llm?”

Edit: actually asking “why” would have still been better instead of the lowkey “llms pollute”

  • A datacenter can be a way to optimize load (even balancing with sun presence with solar panels) and also can be made environmentally fine. Can you make “war” and “fossil fuels” the right way? Nope, at all. There is no good war and no good burning fossil fuels. And to be honest even lithium extraction is not exactly fine right now.

Also, your choice of language makes you sound like a regressive neoliberal.

Again, don’t bring identity politics into solarpunk. Keep it confined to USA, you are doing great.

I would suggest not calling it “tinder for” because tinder nature is strictly predatory :P

But I do have your project in my lists because it’s for sure a nice application even if I think that the mean is not enough to drive the mission. Basically having a much easier interface to vote (instead of other democratic interfaces) is cool but the hard part will still be to have people thinking that it’s worth to donate to a fund

Said that, do you accept donations and projects and votes from all over the world or there are geolocalized only sides?
