Not a great sign when searching for the app results in this:

Major hardware failure on storage server! Due to major hardware failure on our storage server, some of the services are currently offline. We are in the process of rebuilding, which will take quite some time. Until then:

1. Email - Access to mailboxes is not possible, we have setup temporary storage to provide access to incoming emails for the time being

2. Nextcloud - Files feature has been disabled until the issue is solved, calendars, contacts, chat etc works as normal

3. Cryptpad, PrivateBin, Lufi, Forgejo - are disabled until the storage issue is resolved.

We are really sorry for this situation and we will do our best to solve it as soon as possible.

As with some of the comments on that post, I don’t find the author of your linked post, nor the ‘lori’ who wrote the post they refer to make a terribly compelling argument of why people should not use Kagi.

It’s almost entertaining at this point to see how out of touch they are. Many Proton users chose them because they were supposed to be the anti-techbro alternative to Google and Micro$oft, and alas, instead of actually taking a look in the mirror, they double down instead.
