  • They should be thinking about what they can do to make you comfortable, ideally before they do it, and this guy clearly wasn’t.

I agree that OP’s reaction was reasonable but what about the guy’s actions make it so clear to you that he wasn’t thinking about OP’s comfortability? They tried to strike up a friendly conversation and backed off immediately when it wasn’t well-received.

It’s fine to not want to talk but people really shouldn’t have to avoid basic human interaction just because 1% of people might not be interested at that time.

  • For some reason I’m inclined to believe a lot of the stories on Tumblr (at least compared to other sites) but…

They had a mother who would be pissed if they broke a single toy but didn’t notice this happened so many times that it was mentioned during the site survey?

The toys, which couldn’t have been more than a decade old, were rotted to the point of being terrifying?? And the least believable part…a developer giving a shit about what was buried there???

I’ve read more believable 4chan posts lol

  • Standard users are people who are not adept at Excel. Calc is fine for basic stuff but I was responding to the question why’d you ever use Excel.

Calc doesn’t handle named tables so you can’t reference one and you also can’t apply a function to a whole column, nor can you reference row by its column

These are all incredible features to have for advanced users

  • Calc is also not an Excel replacement for a lot of use cases. It’s good for basic number crunching but it lacks a lot of functions, conditional formatting, and if you set up data validation on any cells…good luck finding them again. There is no menu for it. You need a PLUGIN to scan the sheets for cells with data validation and manually remove them
