I hate to take my cat the emergency vet a couple months ago, he wouldnt sleep then was complaining very loudly abd was clearly in pain and something was wrong.

So got him in an Uber, rushed him to the very expensive emergency out of hours very at 2am, turns out he was just constipated and the stress from the car ride had already made him shit.

  • Yes, I have multiple members of my family that were killed in the troubles, so it’s pretty hard for me to forget.

But I also remember the good Friday agreement. Which was signed at the end up of that civil war by both Ireland and the UK and places a lot of weight on the idea of consent of the people.

Please stop trying to turn everything into a completely black and white binary so you can take a side and have an argument.

  • Exactly what I’m talking about. You remove all nuance from the situation to boil it down into something simple, a black and white situation so you can take an absolutist position. Because that’s easier for you to understand.

Calling modern day Ireland occupied, is just tragically misinformed, and jigonistic. and your early comments also show a lack of understanding of Irish history as well.

Had a very long argument on here with some “leftist” several months back where they were trying to argue voting does nothing and makes you complicit with the genocide in Gaza, but during the argument they conceded that republicans had a much more extreme on Gaza as well as were doing worse things to citizens than any democrat, and that voting doesn’t stop you from doing any other kind of activists, but they still just doubled down on “voting bad”

    Genuinely insane

Given Lemmy’s demographic we can put it like this:

If you invent an entire programming language from first principles, you’re probably pretty smart.

If you’re in a a class at uni learning C++ and you submit code written in your new language, then you’re going to fail
