Then… do that…? And don’t be a drama queen about it.

My guy you are welcome to block violet if you wish.
Most other users don’t care, or are amused by this.
Curate your own content, by all means. But if you’re trying to insist everyone else curate their content such that it aligns to your finicky-ass preferences, you genuinely need to fuck right off.

You’re welcome to curate your content and block instances, comms, and users you don’t like.
You can fuck right off if you’re trying to tell me to curate my own content in the same way.

Btw, if Colloidal is harassing you, you should absolutely report them

Maybe like… code your backend in a real programming language?

Stop gatekeeping other people’s lives

Honestly, I’m down, it sounds fun and mutually supportive

Everyone is a consenting adult, everything is above board, and nobody’s feelings are getting bent. Why you gotta yuck someone else’s yum?

This is actually something that will probably piss off a lot of New Hampshire residents, actually. They generally vote Republican for stupid libertarian reasons, but they also REALLY do not like the Feds intervening in their shit, and this is that.

lol I feel like you’re (perhaps accidentally) building a latent foundation for a globally-distributed kitchen table polycule, and I think that’s both hilarious and fantastic 😆

A father and a son - she posted about it a day or two ago. She didn’t let her dreams stay dreams 😤

The hypocrisy is not surprising, but it is maddening.

You know, it would be an extremely interesting and informative exercise to hook a few of these things up to rea (augmented with a digital camera and some rudimentary physical automation) to get to the bottom of all the fucky shit these companies have been doing for decades, as well as doing some more robust and direct statistical analysis of the behavior of these machines:
The ownership and management of the companies that make these things is also very worth exploring:
So, another route worth exploring (though this approach would require a lot more humans to get directly involved with social engineering and whitehat hacking) would be to basically get hired by these companies and find a way to exfiltrate data for the purpose of public viewing and analysis.
It’s furthermore worth noting that much of this could be answered if these companies open sourced the firmware and hardware specs of the systems they’re deploying, increasing public visibility and access in general (there are tons of VERY pervasively deployed and VERY secure pieces of software all over the world today - open source absolutely does not mean “insecure”, and in fact often leads to MORE secure software), but their ongoing insistence about being cloak and dagger about everything prevents any of that from happening.

Yeah, I don’t believe Schumer or Jeffries will do anything beyond self-aggrandizing political theater. They’ve systematically demonstrated the caliber of their character, and it is teeny tiny.
It’s fuckin’ embarrassing.

Be that as it may, I’d leave that to regulatory experts to determine. And I do think the punitive scaling that I spitballed would be great, because billionaires shouldn’t exist, and finding creative ways to irretrievably whittle away their grotesque wealth should genuinely be an uncontroversial (outside of the billionaire class) point.

All that said, it’d be kinda sweet if we could just give these broligarch fuckwits the Napoleon Bonaparte treatment (marooned on St Helena - but these days, probably with a watchdog naval detachment of some sort to detain and similarly incarcerate any broligarch buddies who try to un-exile them with their mega-yachts).
Or, hell, we could even grant Phony Stark his wish: send the fuckers to Mars. Move fast and break things, right guys? That’s what they all say they want, yeah? 😜
Not to mention, nuclear is GREAT for reliable baseline load. Pair that with renewable sources (which in many locations tend to be bursty) and grid-scale batteries/supercapacitors/some other energy-storage mechanism, and you’ve got a zero-carbon electric grid.
