12GB is a lot of ram. By small local models I am talking about fine tuning something like < 2GB LLM

One thing that is never really illustrated in movies is how loud pistols are too. Shoot a pistol without ear protection and your ears can ring for hours or weeks depending on caliber and barrel length.

I think LLMs are useful for some things, but not as useful as people think overall.
