It’s too bad Booker didn’t win. Replacing the 84 year old white turtle corpse with a black democrat literally half of his age would have been so so sweet. He’d have been rolling in his grave on the way down.

21·10 hours agoIt’s the “Where is Thumpkin” song. It’s to the tune of Frère Jacques, and you go through each finger holding them up and calling out “Where is [finger name]? (x2) Here I am. (x2, revealing a finger each time) How are you today, sir? Very well, I thank you. Run away. (x2, hiding a finger each time)”. The finger names, in order, are Thumpkin, Pointer, Tall Man, Ring Man, and Pinky.

12·2 days agoI have been capturing wild children and feeding them rare candies, but they are just getting fat and sick. What level do they evolve at!? Or maybe they don’t evolve with level? Do they need an evolution stone? Or do I need to trade them with someone else for another child?

16·2 days agoPatents aren’t given for what they do. They are given for how they do it. Two patents can exist for the same thing they do. But you cannot have two patents for the same mechanism by which they do it.
That being said, if the patent is “make AI do it”… I’m not sure that is patent-worthy.

politics @lemmy.world•Inside Trump’s Dark Plot to Keep Senate in GOP Hands Even If Dems Win
4·3 days ago- The dems that were intentionally trying to confused Republican voters were scummy.
- The Republicans are half mad at the audacity (and because they think their electorate is stupid enough that it might work), and half mad that they didn’t think of it first.
- There is no way in hell that anyone with any amount of sense will actually be confused by the ballot come election day. The incumbent is very clearly marked as such and they have had a long time to get the message out to look out for the similar names. It is no secret.
- Trump can and will do anything at all to make sure that the will of the people is the last thing considered when it comes to elections. This is a somewhat easier fight due to the Dem’s deliberate intent, but this will not be the only point of suit you will see over the next few months before the new congress is sworn in.
- Also, you simply cannot bar someone from running for having a similar name to another candidate or invalidate the election results only if you lose. That is asinine.
If you’re not a server admin or a guild master, you usually get banned by around level 70. If you are, though, or if you inherited a bunch of gold and gear from a previous player, you can level as high as 100 and be given a seat on the game board of directors.
But there’s a 50/50 chance that someone will just call you by your old username anyway out of spite, and sometimes a server admin will decide that only character sheets with your original username are valid to travel to new servers, or to participate in user dev-polls.
Ostensibly you get to pick your own class and guild. But they can revoke your membership at any time for any reason. And if you go too long without one, you lose access to your spawn point, they cut off your access to consumables, and eventually early ban you. So you’re mostly soft-locked into doing whatever you can to appease your guild masters while secretly trying to apply with new ones if you wish for a change.

9·4 days agoNo I’m saying that they want the data. They can sell the data to others. They don’t need this specific city’s money for this specific camera. They need the data. It doesn’t mean that someone is paying for this specific camera. And doesn’t mean that the city even had access to this data anymore. Anyone can buy this data that has access to the system.
