I haven’t flashed a ROM on my daily driver device in quite a few years now… That process has come a very long way since 2010 hahaha.

I rooted my LG TV. Specifically a 65UT8000AUA from Costco.

I don’t trust it to be accurate; I’d have to reference the sources it pulled from. Extra work for little payoff.

I just rsync a full backup of my NAS’s entire RAID array every week to a separate machine. I have Proxmox set up with an NFS mount to the NAS where it stores all of the /[userdata] volumes that my VMs and LXCs use; Proxmox itself is hosted on 3x office PCs, each with i7-7700/500GB SSD/32GB RAM, and set up for replication in case one goes down. On occasion I’ll actually document which services I’m using, so I don’t really bother backing those up since the volume(s) holding the userdata itself is backed up and can be easily remapped to a new instance of whatever service needs it.

Why would they match? The article is about VPNs and Utah’s moronic attempt at policing them. A VPN routes your traffic through a different IP… I mean that’s kinda the point…

Glad I have the option of a local enthusiast-run ISP. They’ve been operating for 30+ years and had zero problems getting me a static IP for a whopping $5/mo on top of the standard price. I can even get a real-life engineer on the phone within an hour.
