His character as Picard is one of the clearest role models of leadership, something I want to aspire to.

6·13 days agoI read until I get sleepy again. There’s no way around not able to sleep again at 3 am.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Could we replace college with something like Chess or Go, for general intelligence requirements?
7·14 days agoNo. You’ll end up with people who are good at chess or go, which does not predict how well would they do a job (unless it’s “Chess Player” or “Go Player”).

Fediverse@lemmy.world•How to make the Fediverse more appealing for following sports??English
2·21 days agoVery useful. Thanks for sharing. I see that like in Mastodon, Flipboard uses
Noteobjects as its unit of content. Lemmy usesPage. Thinking that’s where the disconnect is.I already observed that if your primary account is Fediverse/Mastodon, there are a lot of things integrated already, realizing more closely the power of the Fediverse. For Lemmy, it’s not there yet.

Fediverse@lemmy.world•How to make the Fediverse more appealing for following sports??English
2·22 days agoI remember seeing how Flipboard magazines with Fediverse integration can be followed from Lemmy as communities. I finally pinpointed out the resource to make this happen i.e. change the initial @ to a ! to make it a Lemmy community. I just tried subscribing to one to observe how the federation of new articles actually work (or don’t).
Example: !how-to-watch-cbssports@flipboard.com instead of how Mastodon would use @how-to-watch-cbssports@flipboard.com

Fediverse@lemmy.world•How can a Lemmy user properly federate NodeBB categories?English
4·22 days agoSpeaking about the instance I’m in and specifically with respect to !technical-discussion@activitypub.space, I’m subscribed to it. So far, I only see posts that a Lemmy user or a user local to the category/community’s instance has authored.
