Look, I agree for the most part. Fuck FB and X and all the rest to hell. But organizers know that you need the most people you can get to have a chance of making a difference. That means you use every tool available for outreach. I’ve seen protests organized entirely on non-corporate platforms and they are… Small. You don’t see those in the news and people driving by generally ignore them. If you can get the hype going through tiktok or facebook or whatever and get hundreds of people on board you can bring attention and make a difference. Now something I’ve seen done is using them to pull more people and then moving those people to decentralized options.
