Linux@programming.dev•"AMD Loves Omarchy" Linux With More Collaboration Coming
51·2 days agoIf you buy 2ndhand m1 or m2, the fedora Asahi remix works pretty good IRL. No, m3/4/5 are not ready, far from it.
Depends what you do with it obviously. Lighting software like Chamsys or Grand MA screams for touchscreen. For work I also need a Mac, and I stupidly hit the screen all the time.
If you’re not into graphics / art design enough to have a separate wacom tablet, again it is useful in a pinch.
There’s no “it’s good!” no “it’s bad!”, it is just a matter of how useful it is for you. I don’t know on windows, but with Gnome touchscreens work very well.
Good! Arrived on location early this morning, sun is shining, 24c a cool benefit. Lots work for our next perfornance but I can’t wait, it’s gonna be great!

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Mobile phones - do you store your apps in folders or pages (screens)?
6·12 days agoNeither - I use KISS, which means a click on the first letter of an app brings every app starting with it, ordered by frequent use. With 6 shortcuts at the bottom I’m good, never more than 2 clicks away from anything.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•I would like to write an opera but where do I start?
5·14 days agoI guess you’d better start with building an appropriate theatre ; don’t worry, just follow “Pratica di fabricar scene e macchine ne‘ teatri” and you’ll get set up in no time, with gods descending from above, devils surging from the bowels of the earth and other high seas tempests (with monsters) - all the normal things you need in any decent opera. Have fun!

Same here! I actually don’t touch the mac part, which I need occasionally for one piece of software (QLab). I call it the Dark Side, and it always complain about available updates indeed.
On the Bright Side I’ve got it all, even some “evil” ones like Teamviewer which I need to manage remote windows machines at work. It runs smooth, boots quick, and Gnome gestures on the excellent trackpad are a delight. Excellent screen, good batteries (not as long lasting alas but still a Day’s Work’ good).
