Many of the roads across the interior are probably gravel. At least they were when I last journeyed there. The ones along the West Australian coast are paved though. They form what’s called Highway 1 (or at least it used to be).

It doesn’t say anything about pressing, rubbing, slapping, or whipping.

It’s real. Seen them, but never felt compelled to use one. There was one outside a small convenience store near where I live. I haven’t seen any for years though.
