  • He already ruined his own life by ruining those of others. It’s not wrong for him to face consequences for that. That these @ssholes are more concerned about his life is ridiculous.

Also, maybe he can put on his big boy pants, accept responsibility, accept that there’re many, many things he’s disqualified himself for in this life, and take the consequences as just. Do his time. Accept exile from whole sections of the community if he gets out. He’ll never be able to give back what he destroyed, but he can spend his life trying his best to make up for it as humbly as possible though he will fail. That’s the only moral path open to him.

  • Believe it or not, this was literally their motto. If you didn’t know, you’d never, ever think it was possible, right?

There was a time many tech companies were owned by idealists with fairly good intentions. Then they got rich, then they got greedy, and here we are.

You can absolutely debate whether their intentions were ever good, but that was their public face, at least. I think at least some of them meant it, personally, but maybe I’m still naive after all these years. I’m not the only one who took the statements at face value, though. Many employees at companies like Google have tried to stand for the old ideals and gotten shoved aside and/or fired.

  • Every time I get a call or text or see an ad like this for a political campaign, I try to respond in a way that even idiots like these might be able to understand, something like: “The country is pretty much on fire, people are hurting all over, and you idiots want me to worry about gender and sports?”

Putting aside all the important arguments about bodily autonomy and liberty, I think it’s best to meet these people with the argument that what somebody else chooses for themselves has nothing to do with the welfare of the country in any way, shape or form. Even if it were an issue, and it is not, we have far bigger fish to fry what somebody else chooses to do that affects no one else.
