politics @lemmy.world•Dems’ blue wave isn’t nearly as in the bag as some think, so says pollsters
41·19 hours agoI have a feeling the voting intention and numbers lean quite strongly blue, but the election will be subverted somehow or as you say, Democrats won’t be seated.
I’d say you earned it.
They aren’t lying when they talk about how hard it is to trust them.
And they had reason to, you’ve shown it again
I don’t know if you’re the idiot you think you are. You didn’t do anything, which rationalised the trust and why they let you in that circle in the first place. That’s a pretty decent level of trust very few men get to.

Unfortunately it’s being introduced into Australia as well, with their fucking CPAC coming here

You also bend, move, carry, unplug/replug, use a charge cable a lot more than we did land line phones.

Fuck I’m tired of this.
What do you expect others to do? Who do you expect to step in?
Why should others step in? For what, to solve their problem for them?
They can do it themselves, the lazy, irresponsible cunts. They told us to mind our own business in 2016, now they want us to take care of their shit while they Netflix and chill.
Yeah nah I’m done.
It’s not a relatively small part of the population either, at worst it’s 35% full support.
For years the good ones have sat on their hands and let this continue. We hear nothing but excuses as to why it can’t be fixed, which change all the time to suit. We watch the political scene in our countries completely change because of CPAC influence, Seppo shit we didn’t ask for. Everything is going to shit, because of the United States, its leader, its corporations, its people, its politics, none of which we can stop because it’s forced on us or we’re threatened by it.
The people can’t be trusted, not just to elect a decent leader but turn on allies. They whine and make excuses for the problem, their fix is to expect others to step in somehow with sanctions or asylum, while they Netflix and chill. Each one refers to the individual, they’re not all bad, defending their own position. We get met with the same shit every time…if one’s not apologising ‘on behalf of’, another is attacking us for lack of understanding or whatever crap they come up with, which they don’t offer other countries.
I’m done with trusting them or giving them any benefit of the doubt and I don’t give a shit what they think of me personally for it. If I had my way I’d tear up our treaties and boot their soldiers off our soil but I get the feeling they’d try an annexation on us if we did, because that’s the kind of people they are.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why are there no normal electric cars instead of gimmicks on wheels?
0·5 days agoI think that’s part of the reason BYD does so well in Australia.
Their cars look like normal cars.

0·6 days agoIt uses the same function and the point stands…most Australians use a credit card or BNPL which is essentially the same.

0·7 days agoI’m an Australian
I don’t know an adult Australian who doesn’t at least have a Visa debit card, which more or less functions as the same.
Many use EFTPOS (and quite frankly our government should move that to a credit payment facility so we can ditch the American ones) but what that Aussie told you is not correct; in fact most of the larger retailers are pushing for cashless transactions.

Nothing they said advocated gun violence.
They might have meant a peaceful shutdown.
They said the population is cowed, to put it more nicely. They’re correct.
