why not host your own
I’ll first have to research how, but at no point will I consider myself as reliable as some professional provider like Cloudflare.
On the other hand, Cloudflare is kind of becoming the internet with all the centralization. Imagine if Cloudflare and AWS completely went offline at the same time. The internet would be fairly quiet.

This is good EU related info.
Wasn’t meant to be. I didn’t mention that .eu is only available for citizens, residents and companies in a European Union Member State, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway: https://cdn.eurid.eu/assets/terms_and_conditions-2.pdf
And history shows that (a country) exiting the EU means losing the domain name: https://eurid.eu/en/news/update-on-brexit-related-domain-names/

Starlink is for civilian use only.
the restrictions affect the military-grade Starshield service
Starshield leverages SpaceX’s Starlink technology and launch capability to support national security efforts. While Starlink is designed for consumer and commercial use, Starshield is designed for government use

OK, now I am even more interested. dig doesn’t return an A record:
$ dig glauca.digital a
; <<>> DiG 9.20.27 <<>> glauca.digital a
;; global options: +cmd

Somehow, it does work in a browser. I tried different DNS servers as well (including NextDNS which I use in a browser), none returns an A record (or AAAA). So, naturally, I am curios what IP the browser uses. Since it clearly works, I tried ping just so that I could see the resulting IP, and figure out where it’s coming from.
$ ping glauca.digital
ping: glauca.digital: No address associated with hostname
Great. That makes absolutely no sense at all. Where is Firefox getting the information from?
So I went to about:networking DNS tab. The address field is empty. I am just typing this as I test. It’s just cache in my browser.
I guess that would answer on reliability question. At least their nameservers still resolve to IP.

What happens when you try?

Step 2: CNAME it to techaro.lol
Wouldn’t that just resolve to IP of techaro, thus providing a “wrong” TLS certificate?

No. But I find many things sound natural to me in English (2nd) while sounding weird in my native language.
It’s not the matter of translation or phrasing, instead it’s that I am not used to discussing some topics in my native language, going to the point of feeling uncomfortable to say or write.

Dang, thankfully I have a backup.

That might also just be a bug.
I’ve had issues with downloaded photos appearing in Google Photos before, usually based on download source. For example, downloading a picture via Termux would cause it to not get detected by Google Photos, however renaming the file in Google Files would solve this.

Ok, it seems the first incorrect spoiler also breaks second correct one (on Jerboa), so here it is in a separate comment
Bad text

I think there needs to be a space between the 3 colons and “spoiler”: https://join-lemmy.org/docs/users/02-media.html
While it does seem to work either way on default LemmyUI, it might not work in some clients, including official Jerboa Android app.

I am not sure, possibly related to the “Cornell 7” case: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2024_Cornell_University_rape_allegations
But possibly just meant in general.

But you can also save up what you’d spend on housing, then rent from savings.

It’s at least a bit nice of them to plan working a bit more.

Cloudflare seems to have .wtf at $28.20/year (they sell at cost).
Sorry, that seems to be a registrar, not a registry. What TLDs do you use? For example, Verisign operates .com, .net, .cc and .name.
