I stopped using reddit primarily when the 3rd party API blocking started. I had been browsing anonymously to lurk a few different communities for a bit after that, but I often left just being annoyed how much a waste of time it always was. I haven’t been back since the blocked old reddit for anyone not logged in. Can’t say my life is any worse without it.

There are specialized chips in development that have ve already proved to be faster, cheaper, and less power hungry. The second they become generally available, any new data center not using them would be foolish.
That being said, we are talking about gamers who will just continue to buy Nvidia in the future despite how awful they treat us.
The biggest issue with population decline is generally an aging population. The older generations will require care, which we will not have the population to do.
The other issue is the ruling class is trying to replace good jobs with AI, keeping our wages for manual labor jobs low. Those end up bring harder to automate and have lower wages, so the incentive isn’t there yet.
Linux is as safe as you configure it to be. There are plenty of tools to help lock down your system, just many distros do not enable them by default because of the trade offs.

DDG’s browser is using webview, meaning it uses chrome on Windows/Android. Also not what I would consider a major browser.
Even if Firefox drops support, it’s doubtful that many of its major forks will drop support.
For those who want to use something other than a Firefox fork, there are some options.
I use Zed with either Sonnet or Gemini. I do plan to swap to using Qwen locally since my hardware has no issues running it.
I’ve done the first two steps with my old S10 as well. It’s not bad for an older device and I still get all if the features phones used to have like a headphone jack and SD card slot.
