It was already in the Steam Client beta, improving performance of your application is just something you always look to do. It was in no way a response or anything to Epic Games.

I had the same experience. This guy truly ruled the world for a brief moment. I don’t think anything has come close to how this broke out, I guess because it all became so normal after that.
.world is the generic reddit audience .ml is tankies
Yea :/ but it was us adults that let it get to this point.
Tim just cannot resist talking about Gabe’s yacht.
Fortnite still makes ridiculous amounts of money.

2·4 days agoAbsolutely. The solar road and rail things are just startups trying to make some quick cash. The real solution is to add shade with solar and put it on top of buildings. Even fields of solar is good, you can use a small amount of space for massive gains. It’s all push back from the right, who are in the pockets of billionaires, otherwise it’s a simple problem to solve.

14·4 days agoIt’s a harmless way to try and get some money from corporations for unbranded versions. A swastika would not be so harmless. What a batshit crazy analogy attempt.

PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•Steam Frame CAD files released, plus an update on reservation waiting times
2·7 days agoIt could always go down! Lot’s of people wishlist and then cancel anyway. So people who are on the reservation list might decide not to purchase in the end. I know a lot of waitlisted people moved to reservation recently.
I’m sorry. It absolutely isn’t. It’s a nice Matrix client though.
The masses need a simple drop in replacement. Fluxer could be that. Matrix isnt.

Games@lemmy.world•Why so many Steam games have weirdly similar (and forgettable) names
1·18 days agoPlayer Unknown’s Battlegrounds Battlegrounds is such a weird case. The name was stupid to begin with, everyone ended up just calling it PUBG. Then they rebranded to PUBG being the company name and the game name, but then slapped Battlegrounds back on the end anyway?!
