Took me a couple seconds, worth it.

Unironically, Chris Rock said exactly this in his 1999 comedy special “Bigger and Blacker”.

Bullet Control

Love, love is a verb
Love is a doing word
Feathers on my breath
Gentle impulsion
Shakes me makes me lighter
Feathers on my breath
Teardrop on the fire
Feathers on my breath - Massive Attack - Teardrop

Wanna be loved
Not for who you think I am
Nor what you want me to be
Could you love me for me?
Real love, with no strings attached
I wanna give you me heart
Don’t want to take it back
And this is my chat (cho!) - Buju Banton - Wanna Be Loved

Have you heard Freakwater’s version?
