I mentioned this last time this was posted, but linux only has around 20 million lines of code. It’s funny how people always seem to overestimate the size.
Check out my open source game engine! https://strayphotons.net/ https://git.sw0.com/frustra/strayphotons
I have been developing this engine on and off for over 10 years, and still have big plans.

PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•Valve Lands VK_AMD_anti_lag Support For AMD RADV Driver In Mesa 26.3English
1·8 days agoI was curious what this extension even does, so I had to look it up:
This extension automatically paces the CPU to make sure it does not get too far ahead of the GPU, reducing the latency between inputs received and updates on the screen. Additionally, Anti-Lag+ offers applications the ability to inform the driver when input processing begins, in order to align the timing of display updates, enabling even lower latency between receiving input and displaying on the screen.
Pretty interesting

The difference in size between billions and 20 million is actually about the same order of magnitude as the difference between linux and my largest personal project (~100x).
Of course, “only 20 million lines” is a ridiculous statement taken out of context.
