When we got home after Radar passed, Rosie ran the yard looking for him and she started having tremors. We thought she was just trembling from being upset, but then the gait issues started. When we left her in the care of the animal hospital early this morning for an admitted stay, she was very much aware of me and wanted nothing more than to lick my face and be held. She went from essentially braindead to that with the treatment the doctors did. She seems to be there cognitively, it’s just that she has some sight issues now.
We believe that they got into rat poison of some kind. I don’t use it, but I have many neighbors who don’t have pets. I don’t think it was malicious or anything, either. I think it was just a freak thing. Rosie and my cat will not be going back to my place, and we may be making my move to a new house sooner than intended.
Heart breaking, so sorry you’re going through this and that Rosie is going through all that. You sound like a good human to them. Thanks for caring for the animals.
Aw. She’s got the same collar as my girl. Hope she feels better soon!!
Good luck, glad she pulled through! Sad about the vision loss though. Brain damage usually occurs with temperatures that high too I hate to bring up. In humans I think 106 is the number, dogs, cats, and basically all other mammals run hotter on average so idk what their number is.
I’m so sorry for your loss, but I’m glad Rosie will make it! What a horrible turn of events :( I really hope it’s not malicious.
That is unfortunate. Hope things go better for you.
